Happy Birthday Dear Sister

Today is a dreary, sprinkly day. Would be a good knitting day, but our son is here. Our dogs love him so much that it makes a three-ring-circus when he comes over. He is looking for a new place to live, as his current abode is always crawling with people looking for fun.

He works a 10-hour day for the city in the water department. He loves the job, but is having trouble getting enough rest to be able to get up at 5:30a.m. I'm hoping he can find someone that would like to share an apartment or house with him.

The Cookie A sock I'm working on is BFF sock. It has cables and ribs. I'm using Trekking XXL in a wine color. I'm afraid I will run out of yarn before I get both socks finished. Maybe not. I tend to be a worry-wart. I really like the pattern. It was a snap to memorize and knits up fast.

The other sock I have on the needles is a lace pattern in an oatmeal color Regia. I haven't even finished the ribbing yet, so I can't comment on how I like the pattern. When we get a sunny day I will take some pictures.

I started knitting socks last year and have completed 23 pairs. Some of those were gifted and some I kept. The photos I took first were not very clear. I mistakenly shot them in the shade and they were dreary and the colors were not accurate. The later ones were taken in front of the glass storm door. Those were better. The patterns showed up better and the colors were closer to the real thing. Some of you take beautiful pictures. Maybe I need a new camera.

Today is my older sister's birthday. My youngest sister and I will take her out for lunch later in the week. It is our "sister" lunch that we do for each other for our birthdays. We have another sister in Oregon that we only get to see once a year or so. There are 4 of us. Imagine the good times when we are all together. We always make a point of taking a "sister" picture at least once a year when we are all together. One summer the three of us from Oklahoma all went to Oregon and spent 10 days with our #3 sister. It was great.

Monday is a work day for me. I need to get my scrubs ready to wear. We have several sets and we dress alike. Our tops are printed and are really cheerful and bright. I've been making socks that go with each top. I still need some to go with a couple, but I have some to match most of them.

Happy Birthday, Sister!
